BLW Basics Segment on NBC Palm Springs
Do you guys ever have online friends that you sometimes, occasionally actually get to meet in person?
This happened to me recently and it was so cool!
I have a baby-led weaning membership group called The Baby-Led Wean Team and one of the members Sara Sanchez joined when her daughter Carmen was just turning 6 months.
Sara was a first-time mom, interested in BLW but wanted to learn more about getting a SAFE start to solid foods with Carmen.
Each week she was on my live BLW Q&A session inside of the group and had a TON of great questions and updates re Carmen’s progress trying out new foods, flavors, tastes and textures.
I knew Sara was a working mom, but what I did NOT know is that she is a news anchor on the NBC affiliate in Palm Springs, where she lives with her family.
Palm Springs is relatively close to San Diego - where I live - and Sara recently invited me on to talk about baby-led weaning and how to help other parents who might be fearful about exploring self-feeding for their babies.
We did a live segment together on the morning show and then Sara also edited a package that aired later in the evening with a little more background on BLW.
Baby Carmen was there bright and early too. She came to the set and made her TV debut scarfing up all sorts of BLW foods on live TV.

The Baby-Led Wean Team Membership Group
If you want to learn more about my BLW membership group The Baby-Led Wean Team. It’s a super supportive online environment to help coach you through some of the trickier parts of building a self-feeding baby.
There are tons of trainings, exclusive BLW recipes, a live BLW Q&A I host each week plus a great group of like-minded caregivers looking to raise independent eaters and prevent picky eating all with baby-led weaning.
Thank you again to Sara Sanchez and NBC Palm Springs for having me on. It was a real treat to meet an online friend in person, and so inspiring to see Carmen doing so well with solid food!
